Three Village Meals On Wheels, Inc.

Meals Delivery

Delivering meals to the homebound is an on-going volunteer opportunity with Three Village Meals On Wheels. Volunteers come from all walks of life: individuals, couples, retirees, stay at home moms, and students with transportation. In addition to meal delivery, volunteers provide a vital link to those they serve. For many clients, the few minutes they have with a volunteer are their only face to face contact with someone all day. By participating you can make a difference!

Most volunteer drivers deliver one noontime day a week, Monday - Friday. Volunteers deliver the route in pairs, picking up meals at one of our three meal distribution sites in Port Jefferson. Volunteers deliver about 15 meals (2 per client) in their area and delivery takes approximately one hour. Volunteers provide their own transportation.

We have both regular delivery route volunteers, who deliver the same route on a regular weekly or biweekly basis, and substitute route volunteers who are called to deliver when the weekly volunteers are unavailable.

Office Opportunities

Volunteers are required on an as needed basis, to help with office mailings, computer input, diet slip delivery to the meal preparation sites, etc. Volunteers come to the Meals on Wheels main office during weekday hours.
